Friends, friends and more friends...

So... today was a big day for me... As I rode in this morning and faced my work building I thought to myself: "This is it... last day in this position and Tuesday starts the next two years of my life".

All week I've slacked at work in anticipation of my last day, today... clearing up loose ends, not starting anything new... I've spent the majority of my time sending personal emails and chatting away about everything from the men in life to the sexiest pair of white, steel, needle-point healed boots sold downstairs! Today was no different...

I collected all my junk... and it's really amazing how much junk you can accumulate over two years, and brought the work related junk to my new desk, literally a door down from where I am now. I entered the other office area, and immediately felt tension between the employees there.. wow.. not like home...

You see... over the last two years I've become really close to those I have worked with... Three of us live in the same town... one has 2 kids, one has none... then there's the Gatineau girls... one my sister's age, one from out East... We are 5... Five women who have created a certain sisterhood...

They've been through everything with me... they were there when my Child Services called me to pick up my son from the daycare. They were there when I bought my second and third bike! They were there when I got seperated, sold my house and moved... They have been there for all the G-rated and XXX-rated stories! They have been there with me through all of it... the amount of tears and laughter that we have shared together is unbelievable! And amazing!

I love them... they are my sisters... I have heard that some people seperate work and personal, but it's impossible with them... we are family! We PMS together, we bitch together, we gossip together...

So... today... it was time to move my stuff... but not my heart! They brought me for lunch and managed to get me a gift certificate big enough to purchase my killer, sexy boots... Amazing... They also bought me a keepsake for my new home... Their words in my card brought tears to my eyes... not your typical "good luck" but instead words of inspiration and gratitude... for the things I had done for them...

A big weekend ahead for me, and they will be reading all about it in emails first thing Tuesday morning... but we'll still have our lunches and coffee breaks...

Ladies, I love you, and you have no idea what kind of impact you have all had on my life...
