Last night was a great night!
After a long week at home with my son who was struck by the stomach flu... a trip to the hospital, then to the walk-in clinic to be told that he will survive, I left work early to get some much needed rest. I slept for about 3hours and woke up excited to finally be riding again...
Warrior arrived home with awesome news... He had bought an R6 at a local dealer. I got quickly changed and geared up, and we headed out both on his bike. We stopped at the dealer, he sealed the deal (even did a little dance-but don't tell him I said that) and we were off... to my sisters place, the "Twofast Spa", where my bike has spent the last 5 months.
We arrived... My baby in the laneway ready to go! I ran upstairs and changed my cruiser gear for my new racing gear and hoped on my bike after lots of hugs and many thanks to them for all that they have done for me!
Warrior and I rode to the Subway, got off our bikes and realised how grateful we are to have each other... FINALLY someone who rides, who shares that passion... Thank you God! We headed to church and then left with the youth for a fun night out. We had a blast... I beat Warrior at a racing game... Scored up a ton of points at Laser Tag (ok, ok... there was some cheating involved...) and hung out with Rox... it was awesome!
We headed back to church with all the kids, got quickly changed and headed back home on our bikes... about 6 of us headed east in the night.
I forgot over those 5 months what it really felt like to ride... The air, the wind, the sounds, the smells... All truly amazing! I would even say that it's even better then... well... chocolate! :)
So here's to an amazing summer ahead. To the friends we will make, to the ones we have. To the ramps and the straights, to the great nights and days to come! It's gonna be awesome!
Thank you God... for everything!
